When Jakub takes a job with a merchant traveling across the harshest desert in the land, he knows it'll be tough. What he doesn't expect is three disasters striking at once, wiping out an entire community.

He doesn't expect to wake up with a dead bison weighing him down and with a wooden rod sticking out from his gut.

He doesn't expect to be alone and sapped of his magic and with miles of sun and desert to travel, and predatory creatures stalking his steps.

But a necromancer for hire always gets the job done. One way or another, Jakub is going to make it out of the desert.
